Eighteen original snapshot photos depicting members of the 1944 Olean Oilers, Class D affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers. This grouping originates from the personal collection of former Brooklyn Dodgers outfielder (1948-55), George "Shotgun" Shuba who appears in both a fielding and batting pose within the group. Several of the included snapshots feature handwritten identifications to either front or reverse, indicating three future Brooklyn Dodgers are present in Jack Banta, Bobby Morgan, and George Shuba, all of whom were teenagers in their first season of professional baseball at the time. Photos range in size from approx. 3.25" x 4.5" to 3.5" x 5.25" with most falling somewhere in-between that range. Typical light wear to corners from many decades in storage, with some imperfections to the emulsion layers that are largely only visible when tilted towards a light source. Eighteen photos total.
