One of the funniest men ever to put on a uniform, Bob Uecker leveraged his self-deprecating wit and conversational ability into a lucrative career and ultimately induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003, when he received the Ford Frick Award for Broadcasting Excellence. As a player, Uecker finished a six year career right at the Mendoza Line, his first two seasons with the Milwaukee Braves. Uecker's broadcasting career was also largely spent in Milwaukee.
Presented here is Uecker's rookie card, from the condition-sensitive 1962 Topps set. The card is sharp and bright, with none of the print flaws so common to the issue. Sharp, the card exhibits faint hints of white at the very tips of the corners. Regardless, a beautiful high-grade card, the rookie card of a popular broadcaster and actor.
