1933 aerial view of a packed house at New York's Polo Grounds for Game 1 of the World Series. One of baseball's most storied cathedrals, the Polo Grounds hosted the World Series fourteen times (1905, 1911-13, 1917, 1921-24, 1933, 1936, 1937, 1951, 1954) and the major league All-Star Game twice in both 1934 and 1942. 1933 saw John McGraw's New York Giants best the Washington Senators in the Fall Classic over five games, two of which were played in New York. A clean photo overall with full Associated Press paper caption on reverse rightfully declaring the scene "sportsdoms's greatest event." Authenticated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA and their full LOA is included.
