One of baseball's most storied cathedrals, the Polo Grounds hosted the World Series fourteen times (1905, 1911-13, 1917, 1921-24, 1933, 1936, 1937, 1951, 1954) and the major league All-Star Game twice in both 1934 and 1942. 1933 saw John McGraw's New York Giants best the Washington Senators in the Fall Classic over five games, two of which were played in New York.
