Gorgeous large format photo taken at Yankee Stadium prior to Game 1 of the 1955 World Series in the Bronx. Both the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees are lined up on their respective baselines while the umpires stand by home plate during the national anthem. A tremendous image featuring the House That Ruth Built with both Yogi Berra's #8 visible at left of the Yankees group and Mickey Mantle's #7 visible towards right edge of the frame. Photo measures approx. 11" x 14" with a few creases and pinholes visible at the corners. Strips of dry adhesive residue ring the perimeter of verso, indicating photo was once mounted at one stage of it's existence, likely for purposes of publication. Verso includes caption at the top dated to 9/28/55 with credit stamping from the New York Times at the center. A fresh to the hobby example from LOTG's recent Durham Find of Historic Baseball Photography. Authenticated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA and their full LOA is included.
