Sharp and pleasing 1941 Play Ball card for the "Hebrew Hammer," as they dubbed slugger Hank Greenberg from early in his career. Its SGC EX 5 shows a classic follow-through pose of Hank on the cusp of enlisting in the US military, which meant losing three of his best years to servicetime baseball. The card is well-centered with touched corners and its middle grade score seems to follow from a slight offset on its blue ink and pair of streaks at the upper right of its back text. (A small red spot on the front could also be an artifact of its printing procss.) This do little to detract from an accessible card of this legendary Hall of Famer and excellent example from Play Ball's last baseball set before the onset of WWII.
