Historic 8" x 10" wire photo captured on April 15, 1958 at Seals Stadium in San Francisco, CA. A capacity Opening Day crowd was on hand to witness the first Major League Baseball game on the west coast when the San Francisco Giants (who played their home games Seals Stadium in 1958-59) squared off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Significantly, this was also the very first regular season game for both teams after leaving New York City and heading west following their 1957 campaigns. A faint crease is visible at the lower-left corner and areas of heavy toning to verso. Dated paper caption from International remains affixed, describing the day's events.
