A clear, presentable card from one of the toughest 1920s issues, as the PSA population report contains 23 total graded Witmor Candy singles for all 80 possible players and this is its sole Otto Miller, as well as the first card from this set offered by Love of the Game. Of all Witmor graded cards, there’s one other PSA VG 3 and just two rank higher! While rounded corners and light marks on its front and back justify this particular grade, it could be this set's sole surviving example.
Otto Miller spent decades as a Brooklyn Dodger, first catching and later coaching, and did his best work with that mitt on his left hand. Almost half of the cards released during his career used this particular pose, so if you know Otto at all, you recognize it. (It appears on all sets that share 80-player checklists with E121 American Caramel.)
Witmor card backs promised a bat or ball for kids with sets, so perhaps fewer survive today because dedicated collectors made that exchange. This approach also implies the company distributed players as singles, unlike other companies who sold them as sets.
