Enos Slaughter might be smiling because he picked the perfect time for a second tour with the Yankees, as winner of three straight pennants and two World Series from 1956-58. New York and Kansas City had a special management relationship in that era that often favored the Yankees and Enos became one clear example of that when he shuffled west in 1955 only, brought his hitting back to form, and then returned to the Big Apple for late 1956.
