I have one to sell!
The Des Moines Iowa publication Successful Farming magazine was one regional organization that offered the cards from the Felix Mendelsohn company as a promotional giveaway. In this case the publication offered a complete set of 200 cards from what is today known as the M101-5 set with a 7-year subscription to the magazine. The cards with this reverse are particularly rare today in fact among the most rare of all the known M101-4 and M101-5 related issues. It is speculated that the cards with the Successful Farming reverse were only used as promotional cards and that the cards redeemed as part of the promotion were blank-backed M101-5s. This would in part account for the extreme rarity of the issue. This example of Hall of Fame manager and infielder Miller Huggins has been graded POOR 10 by SGC due largely to erased writing at the top border as well as other elements of surface and corner wear. The reverse is clean and legible however and in the case of this issue it is the reverse that is important. Successful Farming cards do not make themselves available frequently and collectors who are able to obtain one are typically not concerned with the grade with just 42 graded examples known and five at the EX level or above. Indeed this is the only graded example known one of just 12 graded Hall of Fame cards with the Successful Farming reverse in the entire hobby.
