A masterpiece of modern collecting, the 1986 Fleer basketball set came at a time that the sport was beginning to rise in popularity, led by some of its most incredible superstars. The set was not widely collected when initially issued, and its popularity grew by leaps and bounds over time, led by the rookie card of Michael Jordan. Plagued by centering issues and condition sensitivity relating to its colorful borders, the cards are difficult in high grade despite being plentiful.

Presented here is a near-complete set with the additional stickers, missing only the rookie card of Michael Jordan (two examples of which are featured elsewhere in this auction, pick your grade) for completion.  A technical breakdown of the grades would be 12% NM-MT, 32% NM, 38% EX/MT, 16% EX, and 2% lesser. The primary condition flaws relate to centering, with some minor edge chipping and corner wear contributing factors. The sticker set grades largely EX/MT due to centering, the #8 card of Jordan receiving a grade from PSA of NM 7 with an ST qualifier.
