22 year-old Joe Gedeon played everyday second base for the 1916 Yankees, earning this card from the M101-4 set printed by Felix Mendelssohn. Its PSA VG 3 grade reflects rounded corners and flecked ink from the front. Blank back variations from this set prove tough to come by, making this an accessible way to get one.

M101-4 and M101-5 are sets Mendelssohn created with 200 ballplayers of the mid-1910s. Card backs often featuring ads from a range of stores and companies, no doubt for their own marketing purposes.
The Sporting News distributed a number of these sets, so blank backs are often linked to them by implication. Contemporary advertising shows some stores gave groups of cards away as an incentive for in-person shopping and others sold their sets by mail order.
