Identified on the reverse as centerfielder T.J. Mathews, this is an attractive cabinet photo of a uniformed player from Springfield, Missouri.  Baseball-reference.com does identify a Tom Matthews as being a member of the 1887 Springfield Indians, though our research has found no additional information that would help us positively identify him as the player pictured.  Still, an interesting piece, with strong image quality, a light bit of foxing along the right edge, some age-related staining at the top of the photo, and light wear and soiling throughout.
