Sharp photograph of Tyrus Raymond Cobb during the 1910's. Presumably shot with a smaller format camera, photo is unevenly trimmed around the perimeter and measures 3.5" x 4.25" across the top edge. A wonderful depiction of Cobb in his prime sporting the split-grip technique he was famous for, his likeness measuring 1.5" tall in the image. While we cannot speak to exactly when the photo was developed it has certainly been produced from the original negative. Additionally, this photo originated directly from one of Ty Cobb's personal photo albums (sold elsewhere in the hobby fifteen years ago) that included a multitude of Cobb images from his playing days. Includes letter of authenticity from Rex Teeslink, Cobb's caretaker at the time of his death and who Cobb's photo albums were ultimately willed to.
