Outstanding 1947 team photo depicting rookie Jackie Roosevelt Robinson, third from the right in the top row, with his teammates at Ebbets Field. Robinson famously broke baseball's color line when he was signed by the Dodgers on April 10, 1947 and made his MLB debut only five days later, on April 15 against the Boston Braves. At the conclusion of the season Robinson would be named the inaugural 1947 Rookie of the Year which was only awarded to one player in both 1947 and 1948. Other Hall of Famers in the image include: Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, and Arky Vaughan. Historic 8" x 10" photo surface displays some creasing to the upper-left corner but otherwise remains satisfyingly clean throughout. Verso shows trace evidence of removal from a photo album with sticky pages with credit stamping from official Brooklyn Dodgers team photographer, Barney Stein applied at the left edge. A fresh to the hobby example hailing from the collection of former Brooklyn Dodger, Clyde King who spent a lifetime in professional baseball as a player, coach, manager, and executive. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
