Facing elimination in Game 6 of the 1956 World Series at Ebbets Field, Brooklyn starting pitcher, Clem Labine battled New York Yankees starter, Bob Turley to a scoreless tie after nine innings. Jackie Robinson's walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th eventually won it for the Dodgers, scoring second baseman, Jim Gilliam and the Bums lived to fight another day, forcing a decisive Game 7. The offered Type I photo of the two Game 6 heroes celebrating was captured by a photographer from the Associated Press immedeately following this historic 1-0 victory over the Yankees.
