One of the key cards to the 1954 Topps set, the rookie card of Ernie Banks is often riddled with print snow, which reduces eye appeal in even the higher-grade specimens. In this case, the grade of VG-EX+ 4.5 assessed by Beckett does not really capture the overall quality of the card, which, despite a centering issue, is remarkable. The print snow that is so common with this card is held to a minimum, allowing for a striking, smiling portrait of Banks to really shine. Easily the finest midgrade example we have handled, despite the centering, simply because of the extraordinary image.
