Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC, strong example of this familiar card featuring Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan. Though it is difficult for modern fans to reconcile Bresnahan's place in the Hall of Fame when compared with more contemporary catchers, at the time of Bresnahan's retirement he was one of the greatest catchers in the history of the game. Bresnahan's role as the first catcher to wear shin guards is well known, but he was also the first catcher to wear a padded catcher's mask, and while recuperating from a beaning that nearly killed him, developed a prototype of the first batting helmet.
