While the words "high grade" and "Billiken" are rarely uttered together, such is the case here, long-time major league pitcher Jackie May pictured with the Almendares team in the only season he would spend in the Cuban Winter League. May had a 14-year major league career with the Cardinals, Reds and Cubs, but in 1923 was toiling in the Pacific Coast League. In 1923 with the Almendares team, May would play with Martin Dihigo, as well as Armando Marsans.  This card pictures him with that club, graded EX 5 by SGC with very little wear beyond a slight bit of visible toning.
