Interesting commemorative piece likely created as a tribute to Yankee catcher Thurman Munson who was killed in a fateful plane crash in August of 1979. With a "Big Apple" theme behind the player images the piece is framed to a finished size of 22 1/2" x 18 1/2" with the player images screened on glass set in front of a shimmering red foil background. The members of the team are depicted surrounding a comparatively large (over 6" high) image of Munson.
