There was never any question that Ken Griffey, Jr. would be a star, as the son of a major league player, he spent his childhood in major league clubhouses and was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the first pick of the 1987 draft. He excelled at every level of minor league baseball, vaulting over AAA to open the 1989 season with the Mariners. It would take just 7 games for him to hit his first home run, a first-inning solo shot against Eric King of the Chicago White Sox. This stub from that game gave the bearer admission to see that home run, the first of 630 that Junior would hit en route to becoming the most popular player of his generation.  Graded GOOD 2 by PSA, the stub does exhibit considerable wear and creasing consistent with being stuffed into a pocket, a nondescript April game in Seattle becoming the launching pad for one of the great Major League careers.
