in 1916 by the Ferguson Bakery of Roxbury MA, the BF2 pennants were
undersized felt pennants that featured a black and white photo of a
popular player of the day. Each pennant measuring approximately six
inches in length, the unnumbered set comprised 97 subjects.
Hall of Famer Hughie Jennings is the subject
of this example, which has stayed wonderfully preserved unlike many other examples which have survived. Crisp edges and a clean photo are the highlights, with the black ink printing remaining bold on the white felt. While the right and bottom corners show some rounding, the left corner remains beautifully sharp. Only some light surface wear surrounding the black ink is evident, though this remains a clean example with plenty of eye appeal.
