One of the more difficult M101-4 variants, the Morehouse Baking set offered a redemption
offer for a baseball and bat, or a jump rope, either of which were
offered to young collectors who could produce 50 different cards from
the issue which were included in packages of Sunlight Bread.
Chicago player/manager and Hall of Famer Joe Tinker is featured on this example, graded Fair 1.5 by SGC. Centering is slightly southeast on the canvas, with corners and edges consistent with the grade. While there is some toning, light surface wear, and faint creasing on the front, a large purple stamp on the reverse which says CANCELLED is the main explanation for the card's grade. Thankfully, that stamp does not bleed through to affect the front, which still has tremendous eye appeal. Regardless of the grade, the scarcity of this issue far outweighs any cosmetic flaws on this example.
This is the only example of this 1916 Morehouse Baking card of Hall of Famer Joe Tinker that SGC has ever graded.
