According to our friends at the Vintage Football Card Gallery, Kahn's Wieners football cards were distributed in the Cincinnati region in packages of hot dogs. All 14 NFL teams are represented in the 1963 Kahn's set which is comprised of 92 black and white cards, but the set is heavily weighted toward the better teams. Like earlier Kahn’s cards, the 1963 cards have facsimile signatures printed on them. However, at least some of the facsimile signatures are not actually in the player’s handwriting.
Hall of Famer Jim Brown is the subject of this example, graded Good 2 by PSA. Surface wear and soiling, along with soft corners and chipped edges keep this card from grading higher, though the wonderful image of Brown carrying the ball in his left hand as he runs toward the camera gives this one tremendous eye appeal. Regardless of the technical grade, the scarcity of this issue far outweighs any cosmetic flaws on this example. PSA has only ever graded 35 total examples of this 1963 Kahn's Wieners card featuring the Hall of Fame back Jim Brown.
