One of the most important of all vintage football cards, this rookie
card of Hall of Famer Jim Brown carries a grade of VG 3 assigned by PSA. Still the only NFL running back to average 100 yards per game for an
entire career, Jim Brown was truly in a class of his own. A star at
Syracuse University, a bruising NFL back and a later career as an actor
have propelled his 1958 Topps rookie card into the stratosphere.
The
1958 Football set in general is subject to wear thanks to its colorful
inset background and this card, in black, does show a bit of it, with a
vibrant image of Brown. This example exhibits corners, edges, and surface wear consistent
with the grade. The centering is just slightly northwest on the front, with a still-bright reverse where the main detractor is some
staining in the Football Fun scratch off area. Desirable
in virtually any grade, this example is largely clean, with honest wear.
