Although Hall of Fame catcher Rick Ferrell is often cited as an example
of the need for a "Hall of Very Good," it is important to remember that
at the time of his retirement, he had caught more games than any other
catcher, and had a hefty .378 lifetime OBP. Well-known for his "Big
Brain," he continued his work in the game well past his retirement as a
player, helping the Tigers win two World Series in 1968 and 1984 as a
club executive.
His 1939 Play Ball card #39 is offered here in a PSA EX 5 holder with nice centering, great corners, and sharp edges.
