Yankees southpaw outfielder Babe Ruth tosses at the Polo Grounds in this original from George Grantham Bain's news photo service. An early shot of Ruth with the Yankees, the Bambino is pictured wearing a unique white pinstriped cap the Yanks only sported in 1921 before reverting back to their classic navy. Obvious rounding and chipping impacts all four corners of this example but the central image has escaped any associated wear. Bain credit stamping is visible across Ruth's chest where a spot of masking material is also present. Verso of photo includes credit stamping from both Bain's service and Culver Pictures along with faint printing at top edge that reads: "Ruth of the Yankees pitching - June 24, 1921." Measures approx. 5" x 7" overall with the image of Ruth measuring 3.5" x 5.5". Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
