The first series of cards in the T206 set were issued beginning in 1909 in cigarette and loose tobacco packs through 16 different brands owned by the American Tobacco Company. It is a landmark set in the history of baseball card collecting due to its size and rarity, with cards of over 500 major and minor-league players issued in the set through 1911. It is known informally as the "White Border" set due to the distinctive white borders surrounding the quality color lithographs on each card.

Frank Isbell's right arm crosses over his body at the end of his throwing motion in front of a light blue sky and green grass background. His dark blue Chicago uniform and cap provide the perfect amount of contrast to the white sleeves of his undershirt and the borders, which are nearly perfectly centered on this example. Rounded corners are consistent with the grade, as is some light edge chipping, evident on the right side. Minor soiling near the bottom edge keeps the card from grading higher than it already has. The green text on the tough Sovereign back is dark and bold. Centering on the reverse is just west on the canvas, with some soiling in the bottom right corner and near the center further explaining the card's technical grade.

SGC has only ever graded 8 total examples of this T206 with a Sovereign back, with only ONE receiving a higher grade than the Good+ 2.5 offered here of Chicago's Frank Isbell.
