Unused box that unfolded and became a tray intended to house a "Funmeal" at the Burger Chef fast food chain during 1977. The 69-cent kids meal came with nine MSA discs, each of which were die cut into the tray and could be subsequently punched out. Though the discs were not licensed by Major League Baseball so team logos were airbrushed off each player's cap, the trays were organized by teams. For obvious reasons, the full trays carry greater value than the individual discs themselves.
Presented here is a complete tray, signed by each of the nine members of the Philadelphia Phillies represented on the discs. In some cases the player signed directly on the disc, in others the signature was applied adjacent to it, still in other cases the signature is partially on the tray, partially on the disc. Either way, each signature was applied in blue Sharpie and it makes for a wonderful display. Signatures include Bob Boone, Larry Bowa, Steve Carlton (HOF), Jay Johnstone, Jim Kart (HOF), Greg Luzinski, Garry Maddox, Tug McGraw, and Mike Schmidt (HOF). Some age-related discoloration is evident around the edges with some small areas of staining here and there; Schmidt's signature has a tiny bit of smudging. LOA from PSA/DNA.
