Interesting woodcut newspaper image, re-mounted on what appears to be the inside front cover of a scrapbook from the period.  The image and caption, as well as team name, were artfully removed from their original source, and carefully pasted and cut to size.  The image itself appears in excellent condition, with the aforementioned carefully manicured edges cut to just within the grey border areas of the scrapbook cover.  The team name has been pasted into the sky area above the grandstand, with the player names pasted underneath. Some glue stains are evident around both.

The team image, of course, includes Hall of Famer Hoss Radbourn, as well as pitcher Charley Sweeney, images of whom are very rare.  Also pictured are Jack Farrell, Barney Gilligan, Cliff Carroll, Joe Start, Sweeney, owner Frank Bancroft, Jerry Denny, Miah Murray, John Cattanach, Arthur Irwin, Paul Hines, Shorty Redford, and Sandy Nava. Nava is the first American-born Hispanic player in baseball.  Overall, GOOD condition, an important woodcut image rendered into a durable piece of long-surviving folk art.
