Pee Wee Reese was at the tail end of his long career in 1958 and would
cap 15 seasons in Brooklyn (plus three years given to the U.S. Navy)
with a final 59 games in Los Angeles. One of a handful of shortstops who
were great leadoff men, Reese would rightfully be elected to the
National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
Card #375 in the 1958 Topps set perfectly captures his
"around the corner" batting stance against a striking yellow background.
This SGC NM-MT 8 example is just ever so slightly north and east on the canvas, which keeps it from grading even higher than it already has.
