Though wax wrappers and empty display boxes from vintage Topps issues, while not common, are typically relatively easy to find, the same cannot be said for the cases that housed them. Presented here is an empty box which housed what we believe to be 24 boxes of 1969 Topps wax packs. The box was shipped to a retailer in Oakland, CA and somehow remarkably was saved for more than 50 years. Though the box does exhibit wear and toning, as one would expect, it remains sturdy and relatively clean, with only its postal and production markings, as well as some handwritten notations likely to the period. A few areas where the cardboard has been torn or dented does not interfere with its display characteristics. One of the interior flaps has had two corners cut away, likely period cuts designed to permit the retailer ease of access to the box contents. GOOD condition in general, a seldom-seen Topps relic.
