Sturdy wooden crate measuring 11" x 9 1/2" x 4 3/4", once housing 12 containers of Croft & Allen's Breakfast Cocoa.  The Croft & Allen name and product are printed on all four sides of the piece, which exhibits considerable wear and some staining but has remained strong and durable over the years.  Some nails have been driven into the top edges of the piece, surely vintage but perhaps not part of its original construction, which is tongue & groove, the base attached with nails. The wooden edge does exhibit some gouging on the reverse, surely from long ago.  The Croft & Allen name is, of course, well-known among hobbyists as the advertiser on the E92 Crofts Cocoa and Crofts Candy issues.
