Attractive, original-owner set of 1956 Topps baseball cards. Collected in their year of issue and carefully stored away, the cards are virtually all beauties, a large grouping of sharp and clean cards with very little wear beyond light signs of handling, with the exception of the Mantle and Mays (both of which are well-worn). A technical breakdown of the cards would be 1% NM, 9% EX-MT, 35% EX, 32% VG-EX, 18% VG, 3% GOOD, 2% FAIR and a few lesser. We have taken the liberty of sending 11 cards to PSA, which have graded as follows: # 5 Williams (PSA VG-EX 4), #30 Robinson (PSA EX 5), #31 Aaron (PSA EX-MT 6), #33 Clemente (PSA EX-MT 6 MC), #79 Koufax (PSA EX-MT 6), #130 Mays (PSA FR 1.5), #135 Mantle (PSA PR 1), #280 Gilliam (PSA VG-EX 4), #303 Dyck (PSA NM 7), plus both checklists, each of which graded VG 3.
The remaining key cards grade as follows: #1 Harridge (VG), #2 Giles (VG/EX), #8 Alston (VG), #10 Spahn (VG), #15 Banks (VG), #20 Kaline (VG/EX), #107 Mathews (G), #110 Berra (VG), #118 Fox (VG/EX), #120 Ashburn (G), #125 Minoso (VG), #145 Hodges (EX), #150 Snider (VG), #165 Schoendienst (VG/EX), #180 Roberts (VG/EX), #194 Irvin (VG/EX), #200 Feller (EX), #240 Ford (EX), #250 Doby (VG), #255 Lemon (EX), #260 Reese (VG/EX), #292 Aparicio (VG/EX), #307 Wilhelm (EX). 340 cards total.
