During the 1909 season, the Boston Herald issued 12 supplements with their Sunday papers, each featuring two 7" x 10" photos, one picturing a Red Sox player and one picturing a Braves player. The supplements are scarce today, and quite desirable, though they do make themselves available (we have sold a number over the years). Presented here, however, is something we have never seen: a supplement of Brooklyn pitcher Kaiser Wilhelm, as issued by the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. Using the identical design of the Boston Herald supplements, the Wilhelm premium was issued by the Eagle on June 19, 1909. Unlike the Herald supplements, this example has a second text box giving credit to the Pictorial News Company of New York. Some minor age-related wear is evident, along with some mild discoloration on the reverse, otherwise strong. Condition, however, is irrelevant in this case, as we are presenting an extremely rare supplement, something that neither we, nor the resources we typically consult for help with supplements, have ever seen.
