Despite being double-printed in the 1933 Goudey set, the #144 card remains one of the most popular and widely-coveted cards of Ruth.  The card is the only one of four Ruth cards in the set to feature a full-body image, the slugger pictured at the end of his powerful follow-through, with a detailed illustration of the ballfield and grandstand in the background. This is an attractive, midgrade card, centered just to the right of the canvas with some honest corner wear, but a clean surface and sharp image lending strong eye appeal. As the hobby has experienced some softening even in vintage prices, Ruth remains strong, and his most desirable cards continue to set the pace for the rest.  A timeless card, with a timeless image of the game's most famous player.
