Similar in design to the 1952 Bowman issue, the 1954 Bowman football issue uses a pennant-style text box cut into a full-color player photo. The cards were issued in four series, with the third series (cards 65-96) very difficult to find. The difficulty makes complete sets difficult; presented here is an attractive and colorful midgrade example. With a technical breakdown of 1% EX-MT, 16% EX, 27% VG-EX, 47% VG, and 9% GOOD, the primary condition flaws relate to corner wear and centering, with few significant condition issues. A breakdown of the set's keys is as follows: #1 Atkins (VG-EX), #8 Van Brocklin (VG), #20 Fears (VG), #23 Blanda (EX), #40 Graham (VG), #41 Walker (VG), #42 Tittle (VG), #52 Groza (VG), #53 Layne (VG), #55 Gifford (GOOD), #57 Badnarik (EX), #60 Trippi (VG-EX), #76 Nomellini (VG), #85 Creekmur (VG), #113 Conerly (VG), #128 Later (VG). An attractive 1954 Bowman football issue. 128 cards total.
