New York's "mascot" Willie Breslin is featured on this wonderfully scarce card. It is the only card on which Breslin (who is only referred to here as "Mascot") appears in
the N172 set. This issue depicts him in full uniform, gingerly holding a ball with both hands at his chest while looking at the camera.
Centering is nice, with the bottom edge diagonally cut with the left side higher than the right. A large crease runs diagonally across the card, starting about 1/3 of the way down the left edge, and running to about the midpoint of the right edge. Some paper loss in the corners, and some surface abrasions throughout the front keep this card from grading higher, but it is a wonderful image, nevertheless. A truly unique exhibit from a time when teams had small children travel with them, almost as good luck charms.
