The 1955 baseball season is one of the most memorable in the game's history, and among the most widely-collected among hobbyists.  A monster 51 home run, 127 RBI season from Willie Mays, 20-win seasons from both Don Newcombe and Robin Roberts, and a tight American League race between the Yankees and Indians that went right down to the wire were all overshadowed by one of the most dramatic World Series in history.  The 1955 World Series, sealed by Sandy Amoros' game-saving catch in Game 7, remains legendary among both New Yorkers and vintage collectors.
