Pair of complete sets issued by the Remar Bread company, both picturing members of the Oakland Oaks of the PCL. Highlighted by cards of Hall of Famer Casey Stengel, the cards were distributed one per week with the bread. The 1946 set features five unnumbered cards (Brooks Holder, Henry Pippin, Billy Raimondi, Les Scarsella and Glen Stewart), the first numbered card in the set being #5 of Hershell Martin. The 1946 set consists of 23 cards, the 1947 set 25. We have taken the liberty of having both Stengel cards graded by SGC; both came back VG/EX+ 4.5. The Stengel cards are, in this case, slightly stronger than the rest of the cards in the set, which are collector grade, in the G-VG range with a few lesser. 48 cards total.
