I have one to sell!
There is no secret that scarce T206 backs are highly sought after by prewar baseball collectors. Even the less scarce backs have begun to command a significant premium in the hobby; cards that just a few years ago were selling for prices similar to their Sweet Caporal and Piedmont cousins are now commanding serious multiples.Beginning to follow suit is the T206"s less complex and some would say more beautiful younger cousin the T205s.Presented here is a very presentable yet common lower grade example of Frank Corridon. What makes this card special is not Corridon himself but the brand of cigarettes his card was pulled from back in 1911. The black American Beauty back is considered the fifth most scarce back according to extensive research conducted by T205 scholar Joshua Levine. Only the near-impossible Drum and Hindu backs followed by the extremely difficult Broadleaf and Piedmont Factory 42 are more rare.A very presentable example of a tough back from one of the more popular tobacco card issues.Population DataSGC Population: 5 total graded with this back 3 at this level 1 higher (122 total Corridons graded)*PSA Population: 131 total graded 21 at this level 85 higher*NOTE: SGC has graded 5 Corridon cards with the American Beauty back but it is unknown how many have the green American back versus the more scarce black back. PSA does not quantify T205 backs so it is unknown how many Corridons have been graded with an American Beauty back.
