Bare-knuckle boxer Jake Kilrain lost to John L. Sullivan in the last bare knuckle boxing championship in 1889. Kilrain's trainer threw in the towel after 75 rounds (!), the $5000 purse awarded to Sullivan. In later years, the two would become close friends, Kilrain serving as a pallbearer at Sullivan's 1918 funeral. This strong example has been graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, with light corner and edge wear the primary flaw. Image contrast is above average for this card.
