A righty with a big curve, Fred Frankhouse was a swingman for three NL teams over thirteen major leagues seasons from 1927 to 1939. With the Bees (Braves) to finish things off in 1939, he's no doubt snapping one across the plate in warmups here. The autograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA, grading a PSA/DNA 9, no doubt due to its splendid look in blue ballpoint, signed in a distinctive hand. The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
