Spectacular, signed example of Fred Snodgrass' T207 card, with impeccable provenance.
Collector Paul Zachar sent a note to Snodgrass, along with two cards, in the spring of 1969, requesting autographs. Snodgrass, then 82 years old, responded with a pleasant note and signature, and signed at least one of the cards. The letter and card remained together as part of Zachar's estate until eventually finding their way into the hobby, finally being consigned to this auction. We submitted the card to PSA/DNA, who authenticated and encapsulated it this summer. We are offering it here along with the note from Snodgrass, so the winning bidder will actually receive two snodgrass signatures.
Snodgrass passed away in 1974 at the age of 86. Signed examples of his cards, while not impossible, are quite scarce. A very early example of a signed card, well-worn, but with a clean, legible signature.
