When it comes to big-name Yankees, they don't come much bigger than Bill Dickey, their legendary catcher who backstopped nine World Series squads, with all but one resulting in a Championship for the Bombers. His pose in 1939 Play Ball has always been a collector favorite and he's added a superb blue signature to the mix here.  Lariat loops swirl across the card, which is a PSA/DNA Mint 9, and rightly so.  A spot of paper loss is visible on the reverse, the product of long-ago scrapbook removal by the family of the original collector.  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
