William Brown acquired his colorful nickname by being one of the first players to come east from California to play pro baseball, landing with the New York Giants in 1887, the beginning of a 7 year major league career.  Known for his humor, Brown died of tuberculosis at just 31 years old.  His nickname, of course, makes his name one of the more memorable in the N172 issue, and as such his cards are quite desirable.  This example, freshly graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, boasts exceptional eye appeal for the grade, and would not look out of place in a higher holder.
