This lot features a collection of six different New York Giant Football GIANT TOUCHDOWN newsletters that were published between 1948 and 1975 including the very first issue (Vol 1, No. 1) from February ‘48. In fact, the first issue includes a message from Team President John V. Mara. These four-page newsletters were issued “periodically” by the New York Football Giants “without cost to any one.” As explained on the opening page of the very first edition: “Giant Touchdown will contain news, human interest stories especially about the Maramen as well as about the other nine National Football League clubs.” Each of the two-color newsletters contains relevant info about the Giants and the team’s strategies, complete with photos of the players, coaching staff and executives. The remaining five issues are from August ‘49, August ‘51, September ‘54, March ‘68 and November ‘75. Mild toning is present on each of the covers.
