In the long, storied baseball rivalry between Dartmouth College and Amherst University from 1894 to 2015, the Big Green from Dartmouth hold a 52-47 lead in victories with one tie between the two teams. Here is an aged official scorecard between the two clubs from a game played on May 21, 1898, that was won by Dartmouth, 15-0, on their home baseball diamond in Hanover, New Hampshire. The beige scorecard with black print, which measures approx.5.5" wide by 7.75" high, reads “Official Score card of the Dartmouth Baseball Association” on the cover and includes the team’s entire 11-game schedule for the 1898 season. The inside right page shows the two starting lineups with complete game scoring filled in, while pages 2 and 4 both contain period advertisements. Noticeable creases and some slight fraying on the edges can be found although the 125-year-old scorecard remains remarkably well preserved.
