Kauff is pictured at Washington Park on Opening Day, 1914 sporting the home uniform style of his Brooklyn Tip-Tops of the outlaw Federal League. A full-length paper caption on verso chronicles Kauff's attempt to join the New York Giants for a contest against the Boston Braves the previous day which did not go over well with the visitors. The fabulous central image of Kauff is beautifully framed by an American flag draped before the grandstand behind the centerfielder. "Bennie Kauff 1912 Yankee Outfielder" is written in blue felt tip pen within the top border of the photo and handwritten notations appear scattered on verso.
