The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) was founded in 1933. That same year, the ASA of Pennsylvania was born and competitive women’s fast-pitch softball games were being played across the state. Featured here is a team scorecard/program (circa 1949) of the C.G. Mann Erie Skippers women’s fast-pitch softball team that was crowned champions of the ASA of PA in 1949, ‘50 and ‘52. The bright yellow, stapled scorecard, which remains in VG condition, shows an illustration of a softball field on the cover with emphasis placed on the crack of the bat at home plate. On the inside spread, it includes the team’s roster of 14 players and one coach alongside advertisements from local businesses. The female squad consisted of girls and women between the ages of 15 and 28 who all measured in between five feet and 5’ 9” tall. The scorecard measures approx .6" wide by 9" high.
