Outfielder George Case spent almost his entire career with the Washington Senators, a speedster who led the American League in stolen bases five years running. As shoulder and back problems began to wear him down, he was traded to Cleveland in late 1945 after nine seasons in Washington.  Case won the stolen base crown in 1946 with the Indians, and was traded back to Washington for the conclusion of his career, retiring at just 31 years old.  Case has signed and inscribed this 1940 Play Ball card, authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
